Pigeon River Elementary School had an aluminum can drive on April 22nd, 2008 for Earth Day. Susan Buesing, the school’s principal, contacted Jim Schnuelle of the Gus Holman Company to see if the division of Sadoff & Rudoy would help them out by placing a container at their school for the students to place aluminum cans into for recycling. Being the good neighbor, Don Arnoldi, a Gus Holman driver, drove over to the school and placed down a lugger box while the all of the students stood in a long line waiting to throw their bags of aluminum cans inside. They collected 197lbs. of aluminum cans worth $157.60 which they use for their school’s GO Green campaign. With this campaign the Gus Holman Company also collects from the school every Friday the aluminum foil lunch containers. The school takes all of the proceeds and uses them for new plants and shrubbery around the school. This has been an ongoing partnered project all school year long between Pigeon River School and Gus Holman Company.
